Municipal Benefits

On a consulting and brokerage basis, our municipal division handles a significant portion of the active and retired employees of municipalities and boards of education in Connecticut. The Vice Presidents of our municipal division are Sonia L. Kaminsky and Robert Fitzpatrick.

Brown & Brown is the leader in the latest developments in bargaining, mediation tactics and expert arbitration awards. By analyzing union and management obstacles, both financial and service-related, we can work to reign in claims, which are the driving factor in cost.

Giving our strong relationship with insurance carriers, we are able to determine what to expect going forward for the next three-to-five years. We take specific information from our clients and couple it with industry trends to determine what the best course of action will be. We have also invested a lot of time recently to determine how the Health Care Reform Act will impact the industry as a whole, as well as our clients specifically.

In addition to working with the financial leads at each of our clients, one of the most important day-to-day missions at Brown & Brown is helping the thousands of members we represent with any complaints or concerns they may face regarding their insurance. Since several of our employees have experience working for carriers, we have extensive knowledge of the ins and outs of the business. Brown & Brown works closely with members to determine what information they need to provide, and then brings their concerns to the appropriate carrier to work towards a positive resolution of the conflict. This includes general insurance information as well as specific claim issues.
